History and achievements

The CLIP Teams Project, and in particular Basketball, had the fundamental goal of being an integral part of the Educational Project and the CLIP Activity Plan.

  • In August 2005, we decided to take a "giant" step with our sport, by creating the CLUB, formalizing its registration with the Portuguese Basketball Federation.
  • We started the federated competitive side with an U14 women’s basketball team and with the strong support of our students, we grew more and took part with more teams in the various competitions of the Porto Basketball Association.
  • We started the federated competitive side with an U14 males' basketball team in August 2007.
  • The first group of CLIP athletes/students to take part in the “summer camp” of the NBA Philadelphia 76ers team.
  • First senior team (female) in August 2013.
  • First athlete trained at CLIP in the National Team in August 2016.

With the recognition of the sports community (and not only) of the quality of the work carried out, we also started to receive more athletes from outside our school, contributing decisively to the enrichment of our department and to the increase of our competitiveness.

Now we have teams in all male and female levels in competition.
In the training levels, we receive all children and young people from 4 to 19 years old, of both sexes, regardless of their sporting abilities, but of their commitment, and motivation to practice the sport.
Here they have the possibility to compete at a formal level from 4 years old (baby basket) to 19 years old.
With our senior teams, we seek year after year, in a gradual, grounded, and solid way, to achieve increasingly ambitious goals.
